The Owyhee Gem and Mineral Society would like to welcome everyone to the fun and interesting hobby of rockhounding.
Everyone is welcome to attend our General meetings at the College of Idaho, Boone Science Center Room 103 on the 3 rd Wednesday of each month at 7:00pm.
Our 71st Annual Show, “Gems Come Alive in ‘25” will be held on the first weekend in March, on the 1st and 2nd, 2025. See the SHOW TAB for more information.

Owyhee Gem and Mineral Society
Purpose: To promote interest in the wonders of nature and in particular, rocks, gems, minerals, and fossils. To conduct field trips for exploration and collection. To encourage as wide participation as possible in the “Rock Hound” hobby and the many activities that go with it.
The Owyhee Gem and Mineral Society was established in 1938 at the College of Idaho in Caldwell, Idaho.
We are also affiliated with the Northwest Federation of Mineralogical Societies and with the American Federation of Mineralogical Societies.
